ART THERAPY FOR ADULTS
One-on-one sessions are generally a collaboration of art-making and conversation. As we get to know each other and discuss your goals for the therapy, we will decide together which materials to use, and the structure of the sessions.
Creating art involves many subconscious processes that can give us a glimpse into our complex inner world. As we delve inward, we will work together to become more aware of inner conflicts and challenges and how to work through them with greater awareness and compassion. In addition to being a way to process thoughts and feelings, making art can also be very cathartic and stress-relieving!
As a work of art is tangible, at times we will return to previous works in order to track progress and gain insight into your experience at different points in the process.
Sessions take place on a weekly basis and run for either one hour or 1.5 hours, depending on individual needs (length of session will be decided on in advance).
